If you know your childs size you can order thru Swimville USA. They have our logo. The "team suits" are on the front page of the web site. You can get it with or with out the logo on it.

If you don't have any idea what size then go to Dicks and have your child try some on. The sizing is not the same as you would buy for a "fun" suit.

There is no required team suit most kids wear some kind of blue suit. For a girl I would recomend the flowered suit most girls ordered that one. But plenty will be wearing royal blue too.

I'm Teressa Lewis and I've been a swim team mom for 10 years now. I enjoy getting to meet team parents. I've always said that we meet the nicest parents through swimming. We've been through just about every sport (short attention spans!) and overall swim team parents are the nicest. We've met a few stinkers over the years, but overall, really nice people who are involved with their kids.

Hey, I know we have a lot of new swim families this year and with our first meet coming up quickly. What advice would the experianced swim parents have for all the new ones?

Here is mine:
1. Towels lots of towles like 3-4 per swimmer
2. Sharpie cause we write on the kids....don't worry someone will show you
3. food cause they get hungry...more that usual
4. change of dry warm clothing
5. chairs to sit in

If anyone has a question I will do my best to answer it.

Are you seriously returning for the end of the season? That would be great because not only do we miss you and your family, but we are in dire need of guys in your age group. That's all Chris talks about. He's been harassing total strangers about it and has been reported to the police more than once. There are a few restraining orders out against him.
How to do a flip turn

Good stuff. A few things to think about though. The guy in the video says you should focus on the wall to know when to turn. But if your head is in the correct position, straight in line with your spine, you should be looking at the bottom of the pool. Thus it makes a lot more sense to use the cross on the bottom of the pool than the wall to gauge your turn. Also during the demonstrations the woman is rotating onto her side during her turn. You want to wait to rotate until after you have pushed off of the wall. The guys do a better job of this in the video. Lastly he doesn't talk much about the most important thing which is getting into a tightly tucked ball. The smaller the ball that you get yourself into the faster you will be able to rotate.
Hopefully some of this made sense and if not we will be working on flip turns soon, so get excited for the start of an exciting season.

Coach Chris gave me the honors of setting up a new and improved Idlehour team website. It is a Content Management System (CMS) called RavenNuke which is a branch of the popular PHPNuke CMS. It is very stable and highly functionable. It is also very secure and although nothing is 100% secure on the Internet these days, it still does the very the best job I've seen at keeping the hackers out. I will be adding content every week. Installing new modules and blocks to fill out the site.

I'm also developing a Swim Admin module so we can keep track of times, events, records and any other data that could fit into an online database.
